Foster a love of learning.

When was the last time you went to the library? I’m guessing around 1992, unless you have kids and you went so that they could play on teh germ-infested computers or read books. I used to go with my daughter. She loved it. I hated it.

Now, libraries need an entire overhaul, since they’re not really relevant anymore, but we’re not really going to get into that here. What I do want to talk about is how we could start the library revolution by bringing parents and kids together. If libraries were more like centers of communal learning, they would serve a purpose that people can’t get from Google and Amazon.

Give me a reason to come to the library. I would totally go if there was great programming for my daughter and me. Together. Don’t make me do something she wants to do and don’t make her do something that I don’t want to do. Libraries often had adult and kid sections. What about the middle zone? How about a parent & kid zone.
